Mexicali, Baja California Pheasant Hunt The June Grand Prize winner will be hosted on the upland bird hunt of a lifetime in Mexicali, Mexico. This hunt will be in November 2006 for 2-1/2 days of unbelievable birding and Mexican hospitality. The winner will be picked up at the Phoenix, Arizona Sky Harbor Airport for the four-hour drive to Mexicali, Mexico. Once in Mexicali the winner will be checked into the Hotel Lucerna in Mexicali, Baja California, and spend the rest of the afternoon in private sorgum, maize, and alfalfa fields loaded with wild ringnecks. The following two full days will be spent shooting a liberal limit of pheasants, dove, and California quail. All meals, hotel, and travel from and back to Phoenix are included. Athabasca River Outfitters will host one lucky winner on a rifle Canada moose hunt in 2005 or 2006. The Athabasca River region is moose country! Bulls here range from 35" to 45", with an occasional rack reaching 60 inches. Hunts are conducted in remote, heavily forested sections within the Athabasca River drainage where there is little or no resident hunting pressure. We hunt several zones in this area. Some zones offer hunt dates during the prime of the rut - late September through early October. Success on rut hunts is primarily found by calling bulls and spot-n-stalk.
